"Created by Finnish designer Mika Tolvanen, the Visu collection is a modern take on the famous bent plywood chair, a great classic of contemporary design. It took no less than two years of work to achieve this fluid form and user-friendly design, during which its designer and manufacturer continuously reworked its edges and curves: “Visu” is Finnish for “precision’’! Functional and ergonomic, this bar stool is discreet and timeless without being boring. It fits perfectly into all environments, private and public alike. The shell with its rounded edges is large and comfortable. The low backrest and steel footrest ensure good ergonomics. The soft, curved lines of the seat harmonise perfectly with the rakish, slender base. Designer Mika Tolvanen: "The idea behind Visu was to create an elegant, simple interpretation of the archetypal plywood chair. I wanted the design to have a sober, timeless character, capable of bringing a feeling of modern familiarity to any room, combined with a comfortable seat in moulded plywood. Designing this family of seats, all aesthetically linked but which can be used for different functions, required research work on adapting a design to its environment and a process which lasted almost two years. The Visu Chair is a new perspective on the traditional wooden chair, echoing the idea of Scandinavian design combined with modern expression. ‘’".
