Description

Made in the UK This set pairs Vispring's Axminster Supreme 2500 mattress with their Premier sprung divan base. Axminster Supreme 2500 Mattress Handmade in the UK with a steel pocket spring system and layers of natural materials, this mattress provides pressure-relieving support and is tailored towards a medium tension level of comfort. Insulating New Zealand wool and breathable cotton help to maintain an effective airflow throughout the night, and the addition of silk and cashmere layers makes it especially luxurious. The hand-nested pocket springs are produced in a honeycomb formation, which provides accurate pressure-relief and helps to keep your body weight evenly distributed. This mattress is finished with an exclusive M-PURE cover which is chemical-free and flame retardant. The cover has passed rigorous testing that’s required by the British Safety & Fire Regulations. Made from a natural, bio-based raw material, it continues to reduce the environmental footprint of Vispring products throughout their full life cycle. Four rows of hand side-stitching and cotton felt tufts ensure all natural fillings are kept in place. Premier Divan Base A sprung, supportive and durable foundation for your mattress, this divan base is made from high-quality FSC-certified materials. Traditionally glued and screwed, the pocket springs are produced in an edge-to-edge format in order to maintain the structure of the base and keep your body weight evenly distributed, and the natural fibres maintain effective ventilation. The slow-grown Scandinavian softwood and hardwood used in this base has FSC accreditation. The production process is monitored and all materials used can be traced to ensure responsible manufacturing. Vispring’s 30 year guarantee To register your guarantee, please click Try before you buy This is an important purchase and it’s worthwhile to try your choice of mattress in one of our shops to make sure it’s right for you. Our Partners will be able to tell you more about its benefits and recommend options based on your specific needs.

Our Stylist Says

The Vispring Axminster Supreme 2500 mattress paired with the Premier divan base makes a sophisticated statement for a luxurious master bedroom. I love its elegant, understated design, which lends itself well to both contemporary and classic interiors. The mustard-yellow base adds a warm, inviting touch that works beautifully with neutral palettes or timber accents. For styling, consider pairing it with layered textiles-think plush throws and crisp, linen sheets-to enhance its comfort appeal. Practical tips include keeping the bed centre stage with minimalist bedside tables or adding textured cushions to soften the look while showcasing the quality of the mattress and base. Since the divan is FSC-certified, it’s also a great choice for those seeking sustainable, stylish sleep solutions.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
