Description

The Violet 40cm Mixed Fabric Easyfit Shade in Grey makes a bold yet sophisticated statement in any room. Its grey fabric shade and brass lining offer a neutral yet modern look, perfect for larger pendants and overhead lighting in living rooms or dining areas. The easy-fit design allows for simple, tool-free installation, making it the perfect choice for any home update.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this ceiling light for its versatility and modern appeal. Its mixed fabric shade offers a soft, textured look that works well in contemporary or minimal interiors, and the grey colour makes it easy to incorporate into colour schemes from neutral tones to richer, darker palettes. The size, at 40cm, makes it a statement piece without overwhelming the space. For styling tips, consider placing it in living rooms or bedrooms with other textured fabrics or layered lighting to create visual interest. It also pairs nicely with brass or gold accents, adding a touch of warmth and elegance. Because of its understated design, it’s a practical choice for both everyday living spaces and more curated interiors.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
