Description
A crazy cartoon feel for this incredible Street Lamp. A true light sculpture, this masterfully proportioned lamp was designed by Studio Job (Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel). The Flemish couple of artist-designers work between the industrial world and the world of applied arts, creating projects with an avant-garde language, strongly expressive and rich in symbols. With the Street Lamp, Studio Job revisits the archetypal traditional gas street lamps that were found in cities in the early twentieth century. It delivers up a breathtaking, ultra-colourful and completely offbeat version. The material, as if soft, seems to have been bent, subjected to strong wind! The designers were inspired by the curvature and XXL proportions of the iconic Arco lamp by Achille Castiglioni.
