Born in Beirut, Lebanon, designer Charles Kalpakian drew his inspiration from his French and Lebanese roots, as well as from street-art culture. His projects always highlight the wealth of his origins, combined with elements of Western modernity. His SOUL (Souvenir Of United Lebanon) wall light collection is a poetic representation of his childhood in Lebanon. Childhood, education, games and dreams: for Charles Kalpakian, Lebanon was a paradox of freedom, as soon as school finished, to run and play in a city in tatters. These were the memories that he manifested in the SOUL collection. Metal narrative elements of a memorial biography that can be observed through the eyes of little people (adjustable), SOUL is a series of six plaster wall lights that can resemble those little beams of light that break through the darkness in dark alleyways, creating a magical aura. The Soul wall lights come in white plaster, with or without gold leaf decorative elements. A corner version is also available, perfect for lighting corridors. Charles Kalpakian: "To me, each journey has its own "light", as it evokes a place at a given moment. A desire to capture emotions and make them visible, like a painting, a drawing that you never get tired of looking at." Installation This wall light connects to a wall electrical socket. If it isn't possible to install an electrical socket in the wall, an opening has been included in the attachment panel and the lamp so that a wire can be fed through: compatible electrical cable sold separately.
