Description

Sometimes a simple flush ceiling light can be the perfect finishing touch to a décor, offering practical and fashionable light that isn’t obstructive and doesn’t overpower an interior’s existing designs. The Soni has an antique brass structure and is complemented by a set of 5 alabaster shades, which help to diffuse the light to give a softer and more ambient shine across the room. With a simple design, this flush fitting is great for use in almost any space, but looks particularly at home in the dining room or living room.

Our Stylist Says

This ceiling light has a polished, vintage appeal that works beautifully in both contemporary and traditional interiors. I love how its antique brass finish adds warmth and character, making it a versatile choice for spaces like living rooms, hallways, or kitchens. Its large size and modern yet timeless design help it serve as a statement piece, while the sleek brass arms give it a touch of sophistication. For styling tips, consider pairing it with other brass accents or warm-toned decor to create a cohesive look. It’s also practical to hang it in rooms with high ceilings to enhance the space without overwhelming it, and adding dimmable bulbs can help adjust the ambiance as needed.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
