Description

Perfect for atmospheric evenings, our stylish Naryla lanterns have a glass bulb shape that sits perfectly in a solid mango wood base. The elegant contrast of natural wood and recycled glass work beautifully together. The practical glass surround makes these suitable for outside use

Our Stylist Says

I love this lantern as it combines simplicity with versatility, making it a great statement piece across various interiors. It works particularly well in both contemporary and rustic settings, adding a warm glow without overwhelming the space. For styling, consider grouping a few on a mantelpiece or sideboard for a relaxed, layered look, or use them as centrepieces on dining tables or coffee tables for cosy atmospheres. Practical tips include choosing unscented candles for longer burn times, and playing with different sizes to create visual interest. The glass design allows the candlelight to shine beautifully, making it an effortlessly elegant addition to your home.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
