Our Stylist Says

The Kerr outdoor lantern wall light is a sleek, versatile piece that works well in both contemporary and traditional outdoor settings. Its black finish adds a touch of modern sophistication while remaining timeless and practical. I love how the curved design softens the overall look, making it perfect for pairing alongside minimalist facades or rustic exteriors. When styling, consider using it to highlight garden paths, patio entrances, or even balcony walls. For added visual interest, balance it with similarly styled wall accessories or select warm, energy-efficient bulbs to create a welcoming glow after sunset. Its understated design makes it an adaptable choice that can elevate any outdoor space with ease.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
