Description

Upholstered in resilient faux leather, our Brooks chairs are a functional and versatile seating option for both modern and more traditional interiors. Designed with a high backrest for support and minimalist metal legs providing a stable base. Easy to assemble and supplied as a pair, these chairs are foam-filled for comfort. The fabric has a soft-touch feel, a blend of 65% polyester and 35% leather which makes it resistant to cracking. The surface is coated to make it water-repellent. If other liquids are spilt, you have a few minutes to quickly wipe the fabric clean to keep it in good condition. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of the Brooks chairs for their sleek profile and subtle ribbed upholstery - the warm tan finish and black sled legs slot neatly into contemporary, industrial or mid-century schemes without overwhelming the space. The slim frame keeps sightlines open, so they’re especially useful in smaller rooms. For styling, pair them with a clean-lined oak or matte-black table and a neutral rug to balance the warmth of the seat. Keep tabletop accessories minimal - a single ceramic vase or low tray - so the chair’s texture remains the focal point. Their wipe-clean fabric is practical for everyday dining.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
