Originally known as the B4 Chair and designed by Marcel Breuer in 1926, the blue D4. E Folding Outdoor Chair is crafted today by esteemed manufacturer Tecta and is exclusively available in the UK at The Conran Shop. Showcasing a collapsible tubular brushed stainless steel frame that makes it the perfect addition to compact spaces, the statement chair features webbed upholstery for a comfortable sit. Crafted using a robust polyacrylic fabric in a vibrant blue hue, this chair would make a refined addition to any contemporary interior or exterior. Named after Breuer's contemporary, Wassily Kandinsky, and a true design classic, the D4. E Chair features in the permanent collections of many museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. One of the Bauhaus' first students, Hungarian-born Marcel Breuer is widely considered one of the most popular and influential architects and furniture designers of the 20th century. Studying alongside and under design icons and artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, Walter Gropius, Paul Klee and Josef Albers, Breuer went on to become a figurehead of the modernist movement. Please note: Whilst this chair is suited to outdoor use it is not recommended that it be kept outside permanently.
