I’m a fan of this Canterbury bench for its clean lines and the contrast between the painted white legs and the warm pine top - it slots straight into coastal, Scandi-inspired or modern farmhouse hallways. At 140 cm it’s wide enough for two people to sit comfortably, and the neutral palette means you can layer in colour through cushions, baskets or a textured rug underneath.
For styling, tuck a woven storage basket or shoe tray beneath to keep the floor tidy, then hang a row of simple hooks above for coats and bags. A folded wool throw or a block-colour cushion at one end adds comfort without clutter. Finish with a small plant or a rattan tray on the seat when you’re not using it to introduce a touch of organic texture.
